History

Xbox Game Pass was first introduced in Feb 2017 which was the first time a game console company provided a live service similar to renting games but through digital marketplace The Xbox Game pass has these plans as of now "Essential","Premium","Ultimate".

Subscription Price increase

Xbox has been been increasing their Prices for Xbox Game Pass periodically after them rebranding it from GOLD.
Back around early 2021 Xbox announced increasing the price for GOLD $1 USD for 1 mo,$5 USD for 3mo, which caused a huge Backlash after which they announced that they were going to make the Free To Play games be excluded from Xbox Live GOLD subscription and be accessible for all which included their Xbox Live party services after 18 years of Xbox Live.[2]
