Archive.today has been deprecated. This is because they weaponised their site's visitors to DDOS some guy's blogs for bizarre internet argument reasons (which calls into question the reliability of the maintainer and site, and the ethics of using it), and it's also been alleged that they have tampered with archive pages, which hurts our ability to rely on the site as an archive which can be used to actually verify things and support the claims made in articles.

As archive.today is run by one person who has now brought a lot of scrutiny onto themselves through their actions, there's also a very real risk that they just take the site down, so where practical it would be sensible to migrate links archived using archive.today to an alternate archiving service. | As archive.today is run by one person who has now brought a lot of scrutiny onto themselves through their actions, there's also a very real risk that they just take the site down, so where practical it would be sensible to migrate links archived using archive.today to an alternate archiving service.
