DJI RS 3 Mini - Requires app for use
editHello! I'm new here, so I'll let the page editors do all the proper formatting and such, but I'll list everything wrong with the RS 3 Mini that I've encountered just now. I do apologize if this is the wrong place to create a thread, but I do just want to share this for the benefit of the wiki.
- There are five "skips" that can be done before locking the user out of use of the product entirely.
- The QR code on the RS 3 Mini links only to the "DJI Ronin" app on the Apple App store, not both Apple and Google Play. I have an Android device, and needed to download the app directly from DJI's website. Says a lot, if their app was pulled by Google, but I have no confirmation.
- I did not complete the initial device setup, as I decided to bail once I used all my "skips" out of curiosity. So, I do not know if a DJI account is required. I do know, Bluetooth and Location permissions are required to set up the gimbal. Bluetooth-only just happens to not be enough, strange how that works!
- I bought this off Amazon, and as far as I'm aware (by Ctrl+F-ing), there is no clear disclosure on the Amazon listing (I bought mine from the following: https://www.amazon.com/DJI-Mirrorless-Lightweight-Stabilizer-Panasonic/dp/B0BLD1KBHQ) about an app being required for use.
- For the app itself, I didn't bother reading through the entire ToS and Privacy Policy, so I do not know any specifics that could stand out as any further concerns. I have since deleted the app and promptly returning the item. (I did mark it as "Defective" as per one of Rossmann's previous videos for something similar, I believe about the 360 camera that also required an app for use.)
